ANAGNOSIS

"The one reading (anaginoskon),
start understanding!" (Mk. 13.14)

Anagnosis means "knowledge again." It is used of a "reader" who learns the meaning of a text, which the author "knew" when he wrote it. This column, therefore, is a commentary on selected Bible passages designed to explain the meaning of Scripture, increase our faith, and enable us to draw closer to God. To learn more about this column, see:
"01—The Bible Was Written To Be Understood."
